Brisbane based coffee franchise ‘The Coffee Club’ has just had it’s 20th birthday.
With the launch of the first store 1989 on the banks of the Brisbane river, after a failed search for a late night coffee, founders Emmanuel Kokoris and Emmanuel Drivas at today planning to launch into China and later Dubai. This is just a small snapshot of the success of The Coffee Clubs last 20 years.
The latest franchise in Townsville Willows Shopping Centre has brought the total number of Coffee Clubs to 243 (which averages to about one new franchise every two weeks since that first store opened on the 2nd of November 1989, this tred seems to be set to continue with the Coffee Clubs plans to launch a further 25 stores in 2010.
Generating more than $260million in revenue during the 2008/09 financial year, and a 50% stake in the company being bought by Minor International, one of the largest hospitality and leisure companies in the Asia Pacific region, set’s The Coffee Club up for the next 20 years.
