An advertisement by KFC Australia in it’s ‘Cricket Survival Guide’ series has been slammed as racist by US Viewers.

The ad depicting ‘Mick’, a white Australian at a cricket match surrounded by West Indies fans has been gaining a lot of flack for being racist, with the above Youtube video already with over 3,000 comments.

Critics are saying that KFC is perpetuating a stereotype that African Americans eat a lot of fried chicken, News Ltd reports.

KFC Australian however, have defended their advertisement, saying that the ad was not intended for the US where “a culturally based stereotype exists”.

Sadly this latest claim comes just months after the ‘Hey Hey, It’s Saturday’ Black Faces Skit about Michael Jackson, which generated widespread outrage, internationally.
