Snap-On Tools Franchisees Supports Movember – Raises Over $30,000
Fifty franchisees of tool franchise, Snap On Tools, raised over $30,000 in support of the Movember charity campaign this year.
In support of Beyond Blue and the Prostate Cancer Foundation, Movember is a month long campaign that not only focuses on raising money, but also to raise awareness and promote early detection.
Shane Bruni, the Cairns franchisee of Snap On Tools, was the stand out performer, raising about $18,000 through raffle tickets and sausage sizzles. A fantastic result in itself, however Shane’s efforts also encouraged a customer to visit the doctor for a checkup and was diagnosed with the early stages of prostate cancer – which can be treated due to the early detection.
“My father had a prostate cancer scare, but early detection was the key. I just think raising awareness to encourage Australian men to get regular check-ups is so important.” Shane said.
